FCC South Parish Community Service Day
Saturday, April 27th, 2019

We hope you can join us at one of our South Parish service projects. Details for each project are listed below – please contact the project leader if you have any questions about a particular project, or if you can only come for part of the time listed. Meet at the project location. Please register below in the registration form at the bottom of the page, so we have an idea of how many people are coming for each project.

+ Merrimack Valley Dream Center

Starting Time: 11:00am

Meeting Location: Market Basket parking lot, close to street on Essex Street in Lawrence, 700 Essex Street Lawrence

End Time: 12:30pm

Description: Bag and offer food to people living in the Essex projects off Essex Street Lawrence (one of the poorest housing projects in MA).

Project Location: Essex Street Lawrence, opposite the Market Basket, at 700 Essex Street Lawrence, east of Route 28.

+ Spring Clean up for Carol Garone

Starting time: 9am

Meeting Point: 213 Salem St., Andover

End time: 12pm

Description: Spring clean up and yard work (raking, flower beds clean up etc)

+ Spring Clean up for Lynn Gray

Description: Spring clean up and yard work (trim hedges, spread lime, cut branches etc)

+ Lawrence Salvation Army interior painting project 1

Start Time: 9am

Meeting Location: Lawrence Salvation Army 250 Haverhill St. 01840 (across Haverhill St. from old Lawrence High School; at the intersection of Amesbury and Haverhill St.)

End Time: noon at that time lunch provided by the ladies of the Lawrence Salvation Army

Description: Painting one color (walls but the not the ceiling; walls are 10 feet high in some places)

Project Location: entrance on Amesbury St.

Child-friendly: for teenagers only (no teens on ladders); ladders will be used to reach the top of walls

Materials needed: (paint supplied by Salvation Army) Bring if have (1)a paint can from which to paint and a 1” to 3” brush; (2) a small (less than 3 foot tall) stepstool and willing to have paint spilled on it

Dress: paint clothes that may be permanently soiled, the paint may be oil-based rather than water-based

+ Lawrence Salvation Army interior painting project 2

Starting Time: 9 am

Meeting Location: Lawrence Salvation Army 250 Haverhill St. 01840 (across Haverhill St. from old Lawrence High School; at the intersection of Amesbury and Haverhill St.)

End Time: Noon at that time lunch provided by the ladies of the Lawrence Salvation Army

Description: Painting the lower portion (less than 6 feet high) of the gym walls

Materials needed: bring if have (1) a paint can from which to paint and (2) a 1” to 3” brush; if you have a small (less than 3 foot tall) stepstool and willing to have paint spilled on it

This is one project for 6 adults, children are invited if they can work a rake. We will start at the Gould Rd parking area and then move to the Salem St parking area.
