Matthew 28: 1-10

  1. After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
  2. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
  3. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
  4. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
  5. The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
  6. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
  7. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
  8. So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
  9. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
  10. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

1 Corinthians 15: 3-8, 17, 42-44, 58

  1. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
  2. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
  3. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.
  4. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.
  5. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,
  6. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
  1. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
  1. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;
  2. it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;
  3. it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
  1. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
