Men's Breakfast Schedule and Speakers
The Men's Ministry at Free Church is vibrant and growing and includes a number of large and small group gatherings reaching both those who are followers of Christ and those with spiritual questions.
By providing the right environment and connecting men with each other we hope that they will transfer biblical truth into action - making and keeping their promises to Jesus Christ, their families, friends, church and community.
Statement of Purpose
To invite men into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Methods
Men's Ministry employs the following methods to equip and encourage men to grow in their faith and obedience to Jesus Christ and in service to their families, workplaces, neighbors and church.
- participating in men's and other small groups to read the Bible, discuss how to apply scripture in the daily situations of life, draw nearer to God through prayer, and to build enduring friendships with one another.
- supporting the mission, ministries and families of FCC through service, encouragement, and commitment of personal resources.
- promoting fatherhood, discipleship, and mentoring to influence the spiritual development of adults and children at FCC through consistent and intimate relationships.
- partnering with other churches of the Merrimack Valley to enhance our fellowship and mutual participation in ministry and the lives of one another.
- developing "servant leadership" within the Men's Ministry, FCC's community groups and other ministries.
- reaching out to visitors and new attendees at FCC and men in the Merrimack Valley area through events that feature fellowship, fun and the message of our Mission Statement.
Programs and Opportunities
Free Christian Church Men's Ministries offers a wide variety of opportunities for men to meet other Christian men, build lasting friendships and grow in Christian maturity. Several of these opportunities are described below:
Men's Small Groups
Several men's small groups meet regularly at Free Christian Church. Groups meet to study and discuss the Bible or other relevant texts, to pray and to act upon what we learn. Several groups already exist, but additional groups can easily be started to accommodate men's schedules. For a schedule of Men's small groups, click here.
Men's Breakfast
The third Saturday of each month is an opportunity for men to gather, enjoy a warm breakfast, fellowship and participate in an early worship service which includes a guest speaker and lively music. For a schedule of Men's Breakfasts, or to listen to past speakers click here.
Chili Cook-Offs
The guys had a terrific chili cooking contest on March 1st. Over 70 men and older buys attended to sample the various chilis prepared by 16 contestants. All the chilis were well received and the judging was difficult. In the end, Leclerc Francois took third, Tom Walsh was second and 'Team Hackett' took the grand prize. Men's Conferences
Men's ministries participates in a number of larger Christian Men's Conferences in New England. Two premier events are the Iron Sharpens Iron and Promise Keepers events.
Iron Sharpens Iron (http://www.ironsharpensiron.net) is a series of seminars aimed at training men for spiritual leadership in the home, church and community.
Promise Keepers (www.promisekeepers.org) is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to introducing men to Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord; and then helping them to grow as Christians.
Other Opportunities
During the course of the year, additional events are scheduled including summer softball games, men's retreats and golf outings. Please check the back to this page for updates.
