To our Free Christian Church family:
Thank you for coming alongside our team as we prepared for our trip through your prayers, words of encouragement, and donations of money and supplies that we were blessed to bring to Hope for the Children of Haiti (HFC). Thank you for praying for us while we were in Haiti – whether it was our first trip to Haiti or a return one, we were challenged by the devastation and difficult living conditions that continue to persist since the January 12th earthquake. When we felt overwhelmed by the number of issues that stand in the way of improving the quality of life for the Haitian people, collectively and individually, we rested in the fact that no issue is too complex for our Lord, and we poured ourselves into the projects at hand. Finally, thank you for the opportunity to share our stories and photos with you – please let one of us know if you’d like to hear more about our trip.
Love in Christ,

The Haitian people are resilient, though, evidenced by the live band that greeted us inside the terminal and God answered fervent prayer by getting us through customs and baggage without a hitch. Of course, our bright tie dye shirts were a blessing in keeping our team together even though the Haitian young people found them quite comical. Ushered quickly out to the streets of Haiti by Jonas, the co-leader of Grace Chapel’s eight-person team, we were welcomed by a typical afternoon downpour to await our tap tap driver, who would take us joyful and drenched to visit at HFC in Bolosse. The narrow streets were congested with vehicles and pedestrians alike and piles of rubble partially or completely blocked some of the smaller side streets. UN officers were everywhere, especially near the airport, helping to regulate traffic and maintain order.
